When it comes to writing, whether it be for an Ad, a blog or a social media post.
Your headline acts as the man who opens the door for you at the fancy hotel.
It’s the first thing people engage with when they start reading your stuff.
This is both a blessing and a curse.
Why is your headline so important?
The internet has become a dumping ground when it comes to posting content.
There are many… many bad examples out there.
People are bombarded with stuff everyday even if they realize it or not..
Sure a lot of it is bad, but it also means your headline needs to stand out!
If your headline doesn’t stand out wave your ad goodbye
You could have written the most groundbreaking ads in existence, surefire to outperform every single thing put out by your competitors.
But Instead of a gripping headline to get your hooks in the reader.
You make the most generic boring headline ever to grace your readers screen.
Or even worse…
Putting your company name as the title…the biggest marketing sin known to man.
Your writing has just fallen into the overflowing river of discarded content.
Lost forever.
So how do we avoid this? How do we make our headlines standout?
Here’s some things to should know
There are ways to enhance your headline so it pops its head above the crowd.
Looking like a red rose against a green bush.
When crafting an eye-catching headline there’s some elements to consider.
Just as if you were brewing a new potion in a witches cauldron, you’re gonna need some different ingredients.
Number one, using active language.
Being direct, clear and concise can massively increase the engagement the reader has with your writing.
Number two, give them a reason to read.
One of the ways you could do this is presenting them with a problem and then alluding to the answer all within the headline.
An example of this would be: “Make engaging headlines with these three easy tricks.”
Number three, understanding who you’re writing to.
It’s super super important to understand this when it comes to writing.
You need to understand what sort of people your message is for.
If you're writing an ad or an article for lets say a women's clothing brand.
You’re going to want to understand as much as you can about that target audience so you can tailor your messages towards them.
Hooking their interest in the process.
